The author Ignác Balla or Ignazio Balla (1885 - 1976), was an Hungarian Jewish writer and journalist born in Transylvania. He was in the Austro-Hungarian navy and was sent to Pula. He translated D’Annuzio, Boccaccio and Pirandello into Hungarian and later travelled to Italy. Despite his background he joined the PNF.
