Description
Fünfte, gänzlich umgearbeitete Auflage. Pocket dictionary, 10 x 12 cm., c. 500 pp.. Cloth backed boards printed in red and black with Slovak coat-of-arms to upper board. Round purple Third Reich rubber stamp (Gummistempel Hakenkreuz) to title page, lettering indistinct.
In good condition. Lacks front free endpaper, small tie-marks to lower board. Else a very good tight copy.
Slovak into German pocket dictionary (followed in 1943 by its German into Slovak counterpart). Compiled by Jan Beniac and Josef Maria Seewarth. Stated fifth edition but possibly first thus and adapted from Holtze’s Bohemian/Czech editions. Interesting Third Reich publication giving credence to the nominally independent Slovakia by affirming a distinct language and displaying its coat-of arms.
