Darling Matchett’s” name in ink neatly to front endpaper, dated 1902. Abbott's best-known work is his 1884 - the ‘mathematical’ or science fiction novella “Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions”. “Via Latina: A First Latin Book” was first published in 1880 and sold around the world.According to the Imperial War Museum database, the presumed owner of the book, Darling Matchett was a conscientious objector.
