A very nice copy in original dust-wrapper. Clean and tight. 374[ii]pp., 2 sketch maps and many b/w illustrations (from photos). Cloth very bright, some mild damp spotting to fore-edges, upper board just a little warped. Dust-wrapper very good but just a little chipped at edges. Used; Very Good Publisher and well-known 'traveller-on-foot' explores Northland, Otago, Haast and Arthur's Passes. Dust-wrapper designed by the gifted New Zealand artist Dennis Turner. Turner had many commissions from the Reed publishing house in the 1950s - his subject matter was called 'Oceanic', incorporating Maori motifs as well as specifically New Zealand landscapes and imagery of sheep and shearers.
