Description
Small quarto, white glazed cloth, spine and upper board lettered in gilt, ruled and decorated in green. Top edge gilt, laid paper, xi[i]+255pp. 21 colour plates by Sutton Palmer, including frontis., all with titled tissue guard. Red silk marker.
Very nice copy. Spine head nicked, tail bumped, unobtrusive stain to top edge upper board, white cloth generally just age-darkened. Some mild damp spotting to end-papers and tissue guards. Inner joints very good but starting.
De Luxe Edition of A & C colour book. Limited to 500 copies of which this is 212, signed by author - AR Hope Moncrieff. With Alexander Shiels' armorial bookplate (Be Traist) to paste-down.
