Chukovsky (Nikolay Vasilyevich Korneychukov 1882-1969) is best known in Russia for his children’s books. Among his best-known are the verse tales Krokodil and Moydodyr. The present volume is his influential work on child psychology and children’s language. First called ‘Malenkiye deti ‘(later titled Ot dvukh do pyati). After its initial publication in 1928, it went through more than 20 printings.
