Tall quarto, original decorated paper covered boards. 14 captioned tipped-in colour plates and 8 gravure plates, very many b/w in-text and full-page photographic reproductions. Colour reproductions include Serov’s famous Girl with Peaches, and his celebrated stylised portrait of Ida Rubenstein. A good copy. Generally in good condition but lacking backstrip, and small tear to paper covering lower board. Gatherings tender but generally tight. Important contemporary monograph on this major Russian artist and premier portrait painter Valentin Aleksanrovich Serov.
