Description
Original red buckram printed in black, usual Hoepli endpapers, 11 x15 cm., xx+343 pp. Hoepli list of 100 titles published up August 1917 bound in back.
In very good condition, clean and tight but tear to front free endpaper with some loss.
Professor Bruno Guyon, apparently a Slovene himself, taught the language to Italian Officers and NCOs in Naples when Italy entered the First World War. Slovene continued to be taught at the Slavonic department of the "L'Orientale" university from the 1920s onwards. This title would have bee published between the devastation of Isonzo and probably in preparation for the Italians to re-enter Slovenia in November 1918.
