A good copy. “... a valuable etymological source” given that the Lascar seamen, crucial in sustaining British maritime power, came from around the globe. For example: in 1851 the crew of (a) British ship... consisted of Indian lascars, Malays, Javanese, Cochin, Chinese and Bengals. Harrison (R.N.R., F.R.G.S. - Younger Brother of the Hon.
