Description
Original green cloth-backed cream coloured boards, printed in green with white label to spine. 12 mo.,10x16cm., illustrated throughout in b/w, Printed by R. I.Severs, Cambridge.
A little ageing to cloth, very slightly shaken, frontis. folding table torn at folds with no loss. Some jotting to fore-edges. Generally a good clean copy.
First published in 1935. BASIC (British American Scientific International Commercial) English was developed by Charles Kay Ogden with I. A. Richards, and intended as a medium of international communication. Popular in the 1930s and 40s, its concepts are still taught.
