A very good, clean, tight copy. Lacks title page, usual browning to paper. Used; Very Good Exiled by the Russian Revolution and what he calls the "Hitler war," Pnin teaches Russian at the fictional Waindell College, loosely inspired by places where Nabokov himself taught. First published in 1957 and then by Penguin in 1960. This 1971 printing with cover design by John Gorham, talented and prolific graphic designer of the 1970s and 1980s. Known for influential work with Windsor & Newton packaging. "His theory didn’t emanate from inter-war design doctrines, it was more likely to be influenced by a sign in a launderette or a green felt pin-board; the ordinary detritus of everyday life.".
