Yuli Daniel 1925-1988 Юлий Маркович Даниэль wrote under the names Nikolay Arzhak and Yu. Petrov. Soviet poet and short-story writer, Daniel was convicted with Sinyavsky of anti-Soviet slander in a notorious 1966 trial that marked the beginning of literary repression under Brezhnev. These stories were first published in France by Sedimo under the title ‘Ici Moscou’.
