Oskar Davico (1909—1989) was a distinguished Serbian Jewish novelist, poet and activist. A leading figure, both in pre-war and post-war Yugoslavia, he was one of the most acclaimed Serbian surrealist writers, and also a revolutionary socialist and a politician. Pesma (A Song), first published in 1952, is one of his best known works.
