Spine splitting at head, spine tail bruised but a good tight copy. Scarce edition published in Moscow. First published 1936 Lawrence and Wishart. Controversial Irish journalist, and proponent of Communism, Claud Cockburn, " a man with great flair", coined the term 'Cliveden Set'. He was accused by Orwell of being under control of Communist Party and in the early thirties founded and wrote a mimeographed political muckraking journal called 'The Week' which, in the period immediately preceding the war, become extraordinarily influential.
