A good, clean, tight copy. Original decorated paper-covered boards, paper title label to upper board, with seven b/w plates including tipped-in b/w frontis. Neat sellotape to spine. Otherwise in very good condition. Text in German.

German philologist and ethnographer, Adolf Dirr, during his time, was the foremost expert on the Caucasus. As well as translating these folktales from the Caucasus, he also wrote the 'Grammatik der modernen georgischen Sprache' for the Hartleben language series.
