Description
New edition. Small 8vo., full green soft leather (sheep?), title to upper board, untitled spine ruled gilt. iv+162pp.. Very attractively illustrated throughout with in-text woodcuts and colophons. Much rubbed at edges, upper board creased at corner, modern tape repair to inner joints, may lack front-free end-paper and half title. However complete and mainly clean.
Woodcuts reprinted from early nineteenth century. This primer, was frequently reprinted by different publishers but is nevertheless scarce. The COPAC earliest listed edition (referenced by Alston) is a two-volume work published between 1779 and 1789. No author is given.
