Quarto, original printed wrappers, vi+36pp., excellent condition. Nice copy. Off-print. Very Good Pinches was a pioneer British assyriologist. Following an amateur interest in cuneiform inscriptions, he joined the staff of the British Museum in 1878 and worked there as assistant then curator till retirement in 1900. He also lectured in Assyriology. Along with much other work, he translated Babylonian tablets and wrote an Outline of Assyrian Grammar.
