Charles Ezra Sprague (1842 –1912) was an American accountant, born in Nassau, New York. Member of the Academy of Volapük and President of the Institute of Accounts. A proponent of the constructed language Volapük, he wrote one of the first textbooks in English. This work includes a descriptive grammar, exercises, vocabulary and Key.
