Generally a very good copy, very tight. Small inoffensive stab to upper board Internally clean. No annotations, no tears. Early blank label to f.e.p.. Spine a little sunned, fore-edges dusty, a little age marked and foxed.
Ebenezer Cobham Brewer (1810 - 1897 lexicographer compiled A Guide to the Scientific Knowledge of Things Familiar, The Reader's Handbook and other reference works as well as his Dictionary of Phrase and Fable. The first edition of this title was published in 1870 and became immediately popular. This New Edition of 1895 was considerably added to.
