Important work. “An entirely new, revised, and reset edition.” By leading phonetician and linguist, the first to hold a chair in the relatively newly named science of ‘linguistics’. His work on intonation and phonetics was ground-breaking and remains the basis of much current study. The current volume presents his phonetic and lexical theories in accessible dictionary format.
