Translated by Charles Malamuth. Lonely White Sail treats the 1905 revolution from the viewpoint of two Odessa schoolboys; it was the basis of a classic Soviet film. (Also translated in to English by Progress as A White Sail Gleams). Recommended by Michael Rosen as his 'Book To Remember ': " It is an intriguing mix of realism and expressionism, telling the story of two boys caught up in the 1905 revolution both faced with the dilemma of what to do with a sailor on the run from the Battleship Potemkin mutiny."
