Livonian into German Dictionary. Lauri Kettunen (1885 — 1963) Finnish linguist. His connection to Estonia went back before 1919 – and as Finnish envoy co-ordinated the activities of volunteers in the War of Independence. Kettunen studied Baltic Finnic languages, especially Livonian, Votic and Estonian. He delivered the first Estonian-language lecture in the Learned Estonian Society.
