Vladimir Alexeyevich Soloukhin (1924 – 1997) was a Russian poet and writer. Born to a peasant family in the region of Vladimir, near Suzdal, the first Russian capital. Solokhin, seen as the leading figure of the "village prose" group of writersand whose main theme is the Russian countryside, its present and future. "Searching for Icons in Russia", his best known work, describes his hobby of collecting icons travelling throughout the countryside in the 1950's and 1960's.
