With a foreword by W. A. Morison. Handwritten alphabet and titles by A. Nikolsky. Texts 6 and 13 translated into Russian by C. Platonov. Translations into English by Ariadne Nicolaeff. During this period of the Cold War, books on learning Russian abounded. Russian was also one of the many languages one could learn through the BBC. The author, well-known Russicist Dennis Ward also collaborated with the celebrated phonetician Daniel Jones on a book on Russian phonetics.
